The Andes, Mendoza and San Juan

With my office job behind me, dad in the country for a holiday, it was the perfect time to take an Easter break to the mountains in the Mendoza, Chilean border and San Juan region. We drove over 15 hours from Buenos Aires Capital Federal to reach these idyllic locations where we spent most of our time walking, fishing, eating, drinking delicious Mendoza wine and of course, just enjoying the spectacular views all around us. Starting with the first dinner stop of the road trip, these photos need no explanation:

Gualeguaychu carnaval- EntreRios

It's carnaval time! February now, and after a wise, en route, decision from my friend Ally, to skip travelling to Brazil by bus in one week .... I make a last minute decision to head 2 hours north up the parana river to meet her at Argentina's carnaval town, Gualeguaychu. Carnaval fun, floats and frolics by night, bbqs and riverside, resting and recovery by day. It's a good thing the locals are so proud of their bbq meats tradition.... otherwise we might just go hungry ....

And of course we were healthy and active too. We rented some bikes and went on a bike ride which turned out to be a lot shorter than planned because of the thunder storm we got caught in ... it seems to rain every weekend we leave the city!
