Goodbye Buenos Aires... and Argentina

Last week in Buenos Aires after a very sudden decision to return to Europe (nothing to do with the fact the weather is improving in Europe and autumn is drawing in in the southern hemisphere) having had the most incredible, inspiring trip from the moment we set off on the cruise back in November. After a busy week in BA unpacking, sorting, re-packing and packing again..... we spent our last weekend with our best friends, who helped us out so much these past two years. These last photos are from a fantastic weekend in their home-town called Chacabuco a few hours from Buenos Aires city.
Goodbye (for now) Argentina....
Next stop: Galicia- Northern Spain.

Feb- end of volunteer work: Seven day hike that nearly killed me!

Walking through burnt forests to begin ... didn't feel very safe as enormous trunks were falling down all around us.
First spot to camp on night 1
The top of this platform mountain is our destination after 2 days
Looking over at the Chilean Andes
Arriving on another planet at the top
'Is this house for sale?' asks Francis
Grumpy and lost another day
Interesting way to mark a path with a horses skull!
The most amazing, hidden, inaccessible lake in the world
Annoying sticky-ball plant that stuck to everything!
Successful day fishing on paradise lake before returing back down to reality ....

Jan/Feb park work: Third day off, fishing (and sunbathing!) on the other side of Lago Puelo- Rio Turbio

Jan/Feb work in Lago Puelo National Park

Not a bad location for a park warden house
Supplies arriving for settlements on the other side of the lake with no road access
